Enjoy Snowmass After Dark

There is still time to enjoy spring on the slopes and adventure in the mountains once the sun starts going down in Snowmass

>> A Moonlight Trek on snowshoes or cross-country skis follows a 1.2-mile loop under the moonshine from Snowmass Cross Country Center to Anderson Ranch Arts Center, stopping at stations along the way for hot cocoa with local firefighters, selfie breaks and more. Head down the hill for live music and a pasta dinner at Snowmass Club’s Black Saddle Bar and Grille.

View Albuquerque in a New Light

Part of meeting in a new destination is leaving time to experience the city. While shopping for meeting and event space, don’t forget to consider activities that will get your group interacting and talking about favorite Albuquerque adventures following the gathering.

Ski Resorts & Airports that Avoid Cookie-Cutter Approaches

Ski resorts like airports have their own personalities. Just like people, they’re not all created alike and shouldn’t be!

Airport Auras

First, let’s start with the airports. During a recent nine-day trip, the Denver, Nashville and Spokane airports were the places where I took flight and landed. What I like about these three is that they all have features connecting travelers to something local beyond the usual items stamped with the town’s name and information booths.

Unplugged Escapes in California & Colorado

>>  Ski or snowshoe to Tennessee Pass Cookhouse near Leadville, Colorado, for a gourmet dinner featuring Colorado foods such as trout, rack of lamb and elk tenderloin. The off-grid yurt is lit by candlelight and warmed by a wood stove, and there are yurts for those who want to sleep in the woods in winter or summer. tennesseepass.com

5 Hot Spots to Experience Après Ski in Steamboat Springs

Steamboat Springs hasn’t been dubbed “Ski Town, USA” for nothing. This city is known for its Champagne Powder, its western heritage, and having one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado. As meeting and event planners know, ski trips are ideal for retreats and there’s no better teambuilding activity than hitting the slopes and experiencing that adrenaline rush with coworkers.

Get Creative Juices Flowing with Awe-Inspiring Art Venues

There are places in the U.S. mountain west and western Canada that are so stunning, they can’t help but inspire brilliance. The Rocky Mountain backdrops and vivid contrasts of seasons have long drawn artists who come to spark their imagination. Meeting planners also can stimulate inventiveness by hosting gatherings in these three communities of varying sizes where creativity thrives.

Ski Towns Not Just for Skier Groups Anymore

Living in the mountains, it’s not too uncommon to see snowcapped peaks when you wake up in the morning in fall. Footage of ski areas receiving snow has ramped up, and in my home state of Colorado, Arapahoe Basin opened on Oct. 21. Personally, I hope to get a few more hikes and tennis matches in before snapping on skis again, but I’m always ready when there is enough of the white stuff.

New Lodging Properties for Glacier Country

Western Montana's Glacier Country is benefitting from four new lodging properties in Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls. Several properties also have renovated, including Flathead Lake Lodge on the east shore of Flathead Lake near Bigfork, which upgraded cabins with new wood floors and remodeled bathrooms.

Prime Spots for Glamping in Idaho

Camping for groups is a bit challenging and not the type of gathering embraced by everyone, but yurts offer a type of lodging that is somewhere between a cabin and tent. Usually round, approximately 20 feet in diameter, waterproof and semipermanent, a yurt typically features a wooden floor, skylight, hardwood walls and canvas for weather protection.
