HERMOSA INN WRAPS UP IMPROVEMENTS & EXPANSION

Situated in the heart of Paradise Valley only minutes from Scottsdale, Hermosa Inn recently completed the second phase of a $5.5 million-dollar project that included the addition of 10 deluxe hideaway casitas, renovation of 12 historic rancho casitas and expansion of LON’s Last Drop bar and patio. Each new 700-square-foot casita features a vaulted ceiling, beehive fireplace, secluded patio and European white oak floors.

New Properties Galore in Arizona

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa honors a handful of architects and famous artists who helped shaped Scottsdale, notables such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Alexander Girard and Paolo Soleri. Opened in late 2016, there are 201 guest rooms and suites located in clusters of casita-inspired bungalows, 10,000 square feet of indoor and 36,000 square feet of outdoor function space, three outdoor pools and Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen. The look is desert-inspired, and the focus is on indigenous art, culture and cuisine.

Longtime Resort Returns to Glory in Paradise Valley

Mountain Shadows, originally opened in 1959 and quickly setting the benchmark for desert luxury, was newly constructed from the ground up in what is now known as Paradise Valley through a partnership between Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development Corporation. Nestled between Camelback and Mummy mountains and reopened in April, the $100 million property was 12 years in the making and features 183 guest rooms, 42 condominiums and lofts and 37,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

Limelight Hotel Ketchum Opens Doors

After working to get a hotel built at Main and First streets since 2010, Ketchum officially welcomed Aspen Skiing Company’s Limelight Hotel at a grand opening celebration in January. The 175,000-square-foot hotel features 111 guest rooms and suites, 14 private residences, and 4,000 square feet of indoor function space.

Hyatt Centric Park City Enhances Guest Rooms

Located slopeside in the Canyons Village area of Park City Mountain, Hyatt Centric Park City has completed a $6.3 million makeover of its 115 guest rooms and residences. The renovation includes interior finishes as well as furnishings, linens, wall coverings, lighting and new technology features in deluxe single guest rooms and one- to four-bedroom residences ranging from 680 to 2,700 square feet.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort Introduces Sky House

Schweitzer Mountain Resort opened Sky House, a new $3.8 million summit lodge with 360-degree views in midDecember. The two-story, 9,000-square-foot facility features The Nest restaurant and full-service bar along with Red Hawk café, offering indoor and outdoor seating for up to 180. Sky House also can accom - modate private events, large meetings and retreats. Peter Tobin, head chef of Sky House, is a certified executive chef from The Culinary Institute of America and a certified culi - nary educator.

Tetherow Resort Introduced Major Improvements

Located less than 10 minutes from the shops and restaurants in Bend and 20 minutes from skiing and activities at Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, Tetherow Resort has completed several improvements including 21 vacation rental homes, adventure cabins, a swimming pool and a year-round event pavilion. The 3,100-square-foot event pavilion with golf course and mountain views has retractable floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a variety of room sizes, including a separate boardroom and executive meeting space, holding groups of up to 350.

Westin La Paloma Celebrates 30 Years with New Features

Nestled among the foothills of Arizona’s Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, The Westin La Paloma is celebrating its 30th anniversary with several new options of interest to groups. A serenity garden was created in partnership with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and has informative signs to educate guests about their cacti and succulent-infused surroundings.

Network and Create Craft Cocktails at coup d'etat

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending a mixology class at coup d’etat in Uptown Minneapolis. The class was held in one of their semi-private dining areas, where 18 of us had the pleasure of creating five signature cocktails with our mixologist Alex.
