The Meetings Industry Council (MIC) hosted 1,210 attendees at the Colorado Convention Center for the 18th Annual MIC Conference & Trade Show on March 13 and 14, 2018.

The first day of the conference included a deep dive risk management workshop for meeting professionals facilitated by Brenda Rivers from Andavo Meetings.

There was also an educational session on creating authentic, memorable and impactful event experiences, moderated by Greg Bogue, vice president of experience design from Maritz Global Events.

The first day ended with a keynote address from Christine Cashen, the 2018 MIC emcee.

The second day of the conference opened with a look into technology and the 21st century by futurist Mike Walsh, followed by a lineup of educational sessions on industry trends such as advancing team productivity, Facebook advertising ROI and building the next generation of problem solvers.

The 2018 Luncheon & Awards included the MIC Leadership Award for 2018, presented to Kristin Hutton, CMP as well as the MIC Chair Award, presented to Kimberly Forte, SGMP.

The 2018 awards also included the recognition of 2017-2018 Chair Dean Savoca, Ed., BCC, CSP™ by MIC Council Chair-Elect Todd Seymour.

The entire event was capped by a closing address from the self-proclaimed “Professional Non-Professional” Yossi Ghinsberg.

The 19th Annual MIC Conference will be held on March 12 and 13, 2019 at the Colorado Convention Center.

After 25 years in business, InnSight Hotel Management Group has changed its name to Mereté Hotel Management. The new name and logo were announced by President Richard Boyles at the annual company meeting held at the Holiday Inn Springfield.

Every January, the company comes together for an annual leadership conference. This year’s conference included a celebration of the company’s 25-year history and was used as an opportunity to reveal the new name and logo to company associates.
