1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as chief operating officer of hospitality?
After working to get a hotel built at Main and First streets since 2010, Ketchum officially welcomed Aspen Skiing Company’s Limelight Hotel at a grand opening celebration in January. The 175,000-square-foot hotel features 111 guest rooms and suites, 14 private residences, and 4,000 square feet of indoor function space.
Mammoth Resorts will be acquired by a newly formed entity controlled by affiliates of the Aspen Skiing Company, L.L.C., and KSL Capital Partners, LLC. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2017, and is subject to certain closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Mammoth Resorts is the current owner of Mammoth Mountains Ski Area, Snow Summit, Bear Mountain and June Mountain.

Colorado-based Aspen Skiing Company is taking the successful model of its Limelight Hotel in downtown Aspen to downtown Ketchum, where it broke ground for a hotel of the same name on July 10. The property is in close proximity to Sun Valley’s River Run base of Bald Mountain and will feature 99 rooms and suites, 14 condominiums and 12 lock-off units. The Limelight in Aspen features large guest rooms, a large and open lounge, a lobby restaurant and adventure programming for guests.
