• Associated Luxury Hotels International Acquires Seven New Member Hotels Across U.S.

Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has acquired seven new hotels. The new properties include the Hotel Alessandra in Houston, Texas, Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix in Phoenix, Ariz., as well as the following properties in Denver: Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek, The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block, The Crawford Hotel – Denver Union Station, and The Oxford Hotel. 

The Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix is a slick boutique hotel anchoring CityScape, a celebrated downtown Phoenix landmark. The property is located within walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center and features 242 guestrooms and suites. The hotel also features a rooftop pool and lounge, as well 10,000 square feet of versatile function space with panoramic views that blur the lines between the indoors and outdoors. The property offers group fitness classes that include everything from serious cardio sessions to intense yoga workouts at no charge.

Aventri, a leader in events management software (EMS), recently released ‘The Top 100 Meeting and Event Venues in the United States’ for 2019. The company took the ten top-rated meeting and event cities in the United States and picked the top ten venues in each area, compiling a list of 100 highly-regarded spaces. 

The guide identifies the two most valuable factors in attendee satisfaction as venue location and activities in the host city, followed by capacity, uniqueness and proximity to local attractions.

 

Salt Lake City will be hosting the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Great Ideas Conference in 2020, 2021 and 2022. The Great Ideas Conference is a flagship event for association professionals from around the world who come to connect, learn and collaborate. With approximately 500 attendees, the conference will provide a retreat-like setting for professionals to advance new ideas by working together.

 

The country's top "on-time airport" is getting a facelift. In fact, it's getting a new face entirely. Salt Lake City is building a new airport in the current location of its 50-year-old Salt Lake City International Airport. The new airport is being built in two phases, the first to be completed in mid-2020, and the second to be done in 2024.
