Recently opened in the Talking Stick Entertainment District in Scottsdale, Arizona, within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Bam Kazam is a new form of interactive entertainment from the founder of Escape the Room. It’s housed within a large 20,000-square-foot complex and consists of 18 room-sized games and puzzles.

A seasoned team of scenic designers, theme park engineers, artists and composers built Bam Kazam, making sure every game and puzzle puts players’ physical and mental skills to the ultimate test. Be on a game show, explore a haunted mansion, navigate an ancient temple teeming with booby traps, scale the precarious two-story fuselage of a tropical plane crash or climb the ledge as cat burglars keen to heist a priceless painting.

With a capacity for up to 100 people, Bam Kazam is available to host corporate events, team-building and special occasions and provides options for cocktails and catering.

Looking for something a little different to plug your group into and a venue they will be talking about long after a gathering concludes? Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the winter home and laboratory of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, might be the solution with its Sunsets and Sips and Wellness Series

Recently, I wrote about Santa Fe, New Mexico’s new Sky Railway, which made me think about all the train tie-ins for groups in the U.S. Mountain West and western Canada. Several tourist trains offer special events that groups can tag onto and allow private rental of train cars, and there are venues and museums that celebrate the railroad’s front-and-center place in the development of the West.

As travel comes returns in many parts of the world, Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 2022 Star Award winners on April 26, 2022. The United States debuted 10 hotels, three restaurants and seven spas on the Five-Star list. In U.S. Mountain West towns with peaks, 12 hotels, one restaurant, and six spas landed a Five-Star nod.
