• Denise Smith Joins By Design Collective

By Design Collective has announced Denise Smith as its new director of sales and marketing. With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Smith loves the ever-changing landscape of events, the creativity, and innovation presented to clients. Smith started on the ground floor as an Operations Manager at a destination company called Meeting and Incentive Management in Las Vegas, NV. She worked her way through many stages of the industry. Later on, she created a social media conference for women and most recently, was senior sales manager at RMC, a Colorado based DMC.

“I am very excited to be joining the By Design Collective family. I look forward to working with the entire team to contribute to the ongoing success of the organization,” said Smith on the transition. “By Design Collective is a leading player in the catering sector of the hospitality industry, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity of representing the company and its brands.”

Owner and CEO, Ingrid Nagy believes Denise is the perfect addition. “Cade and I are very proud to have witnessed our growth, through creativity and innovation, to become Colorado’s premier catering and event décor company” says Nagy. “With the addition of Denise, we are confident that her experience and wisdom in the industry will continue to lead us to new heights.”

Although Smith is a key contributor with an innovative style, strong communication skills, and a passion for sales and marketing, there are some challenges to face when stepping into a new atmosphere. Smith loves having the opportunity to empower a team to meet and exceed their goals. With a team of six designers and three event services managers, this is a large undertaking, and she’s up for the challenge.

The recently opened AC Hotel Phoenix Biltmore, part of the design-led European lifestyle Marriott hotel brand, has announced the appointment of David Belk as general manager and Mike Carvelo as director of sales and marketing. 
 

 

This April, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa announced a new Director of Sales, Marketing, and Events, Chrisie Smith. Smith has worked at several Hyatt properties across the country and has over 21 years of experience ranging from Colorado’s Park Hyatt Beaver Creek to Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Nevada, and most recently was the director of sales for Hyatt Regency in Dallas.
