    POSTED October 28, 2016

These interviews are part of a series that highlights new hires within the industry. Have you recently started a new role or do you know someone who has? Submit your ideas to brittany.trevick@tigeroak.com.

Stephanie Bennett was recently hired as a senior sales manager at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa—Beaver Creek.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role at Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek?

I am excited to be part of a dynamic team that is focused on the well-being of our customers and guests. The Westin Riverfront has so much to offer from our beautiful meeting space with floor to ceiling windows to our lovely outdoor space overlooking the Eagle River and our modern Mexican restaurant Maya, Spa Anjali and The Athletic Club. In addition, Beaver Creek is an awe-inspiring location with so many unique activities and experiences available!

2. How do you think past industry experience has prepared you for this role?

I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of customers—each with specific needs and wants. I’ve learned to really listen to what the customer is looking for and find ways to make it happen.

3. How did you get into this industry?

I studied marketing in college and didn’t know hotel and resort sales existed. I somewhat fell into the industry when my first director of sales took a chance on me with no prior experience. Once I started, I was hooked and now it feels like a natural fit.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I hope to introduce this beautiful resort to numerous people who haven’t experienced it yet and help create and facilitate meaningful, memorable experiences for all guests when they are here.

5. What do you enjoy the most about this industry?

I really enjoy the fact that I get to meet so many interesting people who are involved in so many different industries. Building relationships with my colleagues and customers is also a key component of the job that I enjoy.

Uncharted Society works with outfitters across the globe to give groups and individuals the opportunity to try motorsports on BRP-certified vehicles. Triple Creek Ranch in Darby, Montana, has named Molly Smith and Kristen Snavely co-general managers of the all-inclusive luxury property situated in the Bitterroot Valley. Smith is returning to Triple Creek Ranch after a brief hiatus. Previously serving as GM for four years after working her way up from pastry chef, she has since perfected her skills at The Inn at Hastings Park in Massachusetts, another Relais & Châteaux property.

With meetings returning to normal as the COVID-19 pandemic levels out, outdoor mountain pursuits are finding more time on meeting agendas. Taking events outdoors not only boosts attendees’ comfort level as they ease back into in-person meetings, time spent in nature is proven to improve brain health and stimulate creative thinking as well.

We’ll be looking at this topic in-depth in the Spring/Summer 2022 issue of Mountain Meetings. Consider this as an introduction to some of the possibilities.
