Springboard Hospitality has announced the hiring of Anthony Moody as general manager and Nicholas Davies as executive chef of The Yarrow, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Park City in Utah.

With over 25 years in hospitality, Moody most recently served as GM of The Farnam, Autograph Collection by Marriott in Omaha, Nebraska, which he opened in 2020. He previously spent 20 years with John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts across the Midwest and two years with Real Hospitality Group.

Davies joins the property from Snowbasin Resort, part of Grand America Hotel and Resorts, in Huntsville, Utah. In his new role, he is helming The Yarrow’s two culinary outlets: 1800 Park and Vertical Lounge. Among Davies’ many responsibilities is working with meeting and event planners. Prior to his time in Utah, he served as executive chef at Village Station at Sun Valley Resort in Idaho.

Yakima Valley Tourism in Washington has hired Michael Franson as the new sports development manager for the Yakima Valley Sports Commission, a division of the destination marketing organization. In his new role, Franson works with sporting organizations, the local hospitality community, and venues to bring sports tournaments and events to the Yakima Valley. Franson most recently worked for Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and was previously employed at University of Washington.

Scott Craighead is the new vice president of sales, services, and sports for Visit Albuquerque in New Mexico. Craighead most recently served as vice president of exhibitions and events for the International Association of Exhibitions and Events and vice president for the Center for Exhibition Industry Research. In his new role, he oversees the Sales, Services and Sports Division, which is responsible for generating qualified meeting, convention, sports, and group tour leads that are distributed to Albuquerque’s hotels, convention center, and venues. 

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole has announced the appointment of Rui de Sousa Lopes as the new director of food and beverage. Lopes joins the property from Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, where he most recently served as assistant director of food and beverage, overseeing a $20 million operation. Prior to joining Four Seasons, Lopes held several food and beverage roles for The Ritz-Carlton and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East and Europe. 

After officially taking over the management of Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, National Bowling Stadium, and Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, Visit Reno Tahoe promoted Trent LaFerriere to the position of vice president of facilities. LaFerriere worked in management, maintenance, and operations at the four Nevada facilities for more than 18 years. 

Over the past decade, Executive Chef Ben Jones has cooked up creative culinary experiences for remote, high-end mountain properties.

Sage Lodge, located 30 miles north of Yellowstone National Park in Pray, Montana, is the latest resort to tap into chef Ben Jones’ talents, bringing him on board in October 2021 to oversee two restaurants, create memorable culinary experiences, and elevate catering services for meetings and events.
