• Sun Valley Resort debuts all-new Village Station and remodeled Sun Valley Inn

Phase one of the Sun Valley Inn renovation project has been recently completed. The hotel is excited for guests to experience 25 revamped rooms, complete with new carpeting, linens, mattresses, bathrooms, energy-efficient windows, 55-inch screen televisions, and enhanced wireless internet. The rest of the hotels 80 rooms are slated to be finished Fall of 2018, with completion planned for next December.

“Beginning with the renovation of Sun Valley Lodge in 2015, we have been dedicated to meeting the needs of our luxury travelers by incorporating the modern updates, amenities, and attention to detail guests desire while still highlighting Sun Valley’s treasured history,” said Justin Cambier, Sun Valley Resort’s director of hospitality. “Sun Valley aims to create a timeless ambiance that evokes memories and is rooted in traditions but also looks forward toward new adventures. This phase of the renovation captures this spirit and supports Sun Valley in providing guests with authentic and memorable experiences during their visits.”

When the project is completed, the Inn will have 98 completely remodeled guest rooms. Before the completion of the project, Sun Valley Resort is unveiling even more updates with renovations to culinary concepts, enhanced guest experience through modern updates, and a completely refreshed look with high attention to detail. Some of these updates include:

  • Village Station is the all-new restaurant that guests cannot wait to try out. Meant to be the pinnacle of the renovation, the family-friendly establishment features a full-service bar, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and four large-screen televisions. The nightly happy hour from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. provides deals on 12 craft beers on tap with six rotating handles, a variety of appetizers such as the Mozzarella Bricks, and so much more. The thoughtfully executed menu include the Short Rib Ragu with braised short rib, creamy polenta, maitake mushrooms, parmigiana, and herbs; as well as the locals’ favorite, Chicken Parmesan. For those short on time, take-out options include such dishes as Spaghetti Bolognese and Chicken Piccata.
  • The Ram will feature an upscale menu. The all-new modern steakhouse will feature locally-sourced ingredients, an exhibition kitchen, nightly wine specials, and an outstanding menu. The renovation will keep the restaurant's historical charm while updating with modern conveniences and providing an inviting and warm atmosphere. Classic entrees include Heritage Dinners, such as The Hemingway Hasenpfeffer from 1954 and the Hungarian Goulash from 1966. Other featured dishes include 44 Farms Angus Ribeye, Rocky Mountain Lamb Shank, and Idaho Ruby Trout.
  • The Ram Bar reopened with a whole new menu of craft cocktails, batch cocktails served in punch bowls, regional beers on tap, and wines from the Sun Valley cellar. New hardwood floors, a fireplace, three large screen televisions, and new furniture are giving the iconic bar new life.

Sun Valley’s director of food and beverage. “We are excited to introduce our guests to the all-new Village Station and the renovated Ram and The Ram Bar so they can experience the enhancements first-hand.”

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole in Wyoming launched the summer season with a new member on its team, Emma Matilda. A 16-week-old Bernese mountain dog, Tillie, joined the Four Seasons team from Colorado in early May 5 and has been melting the hearts of guests, groups and staff ever since.

 

Food trucks may be mobile, but they aren’t going anywhere, since their popularity only seems to grow with each season. A New Jersey hotel is getting in on the fun! Along with over 18,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, Embassy Suites by Hilton in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, offers the Grain & Cane “Gastro Truck” as a fun option for a mid-meeting break or post-event dining option.

 

The family-focused, Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells in 1997. Over the next two decades, it slowly expanded with more properties around the Midwest, moving into the Northeast, South, West and Canada. And this summer, the greater Chicago area will get its first resort from the brand.
