Highline, a 116-room modern mountain resort, opened its doors in west Vail just in time for the 2019/2020 ski season. An elevated cabin-in-the woods aesthetic flows throughout the property, from the A-frame communal lobby and restaurant to cozy guest rooms and spacious loft suites. The interior features weathered woods, slate and leather accents in a palette of soothing neutrals and region- ally inspired art and fixtures.

Park City & Canyons Resort Updated Property

Vail Resorts, Inc. is implementing one of the most ambitious capital plans in the history of the U.S. ski industry to connect and improve Utah’s Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort. The $50 million capital plan will create the largest single ski area in the United States with in excess of 7,300 acres of skiable terrain and upgraded infrastructure of both resorts. Examples of plans underway are the new Interconnect Gondola running from the base of the existing Silverlode Lift at Park City to the Flatiron Lift at Canyons.

Deck Time is Prime Time in the Mountains

It’s hard to beat a patio lunch on a sunny winter day or wrapping up with a little après ski on a favorite mountain patio. Just like beer somehow tastes even better after a round of golf in the mountains, the same can be said for suds or spirits after a full day of skiing or boarding (or being inside for meetings!). Vail Resorts, Inc. owns resorts around the Mountain West and recently shared its top decks from a handful of ski areas.

Deck Time in the Mountains

It’s hard to beat a patio lunch on a sunny spring day or wrapping up with a little après on a favorite mid-mountain or slopeside deck. Just like beer tastes somehow tastes even better after a round of golf in the mountains, the same can be say for suds or spirits after a full day of skiing or boarding (or after being inside for meetings!). Groups can score big with attendees by hosting a patio gathering at ski areas or historic mountain downtowns almost any season.

Big Ski News from Utah

I love fall mornings when you wake up and find clouds hanging low on the mountains and once they lift, snow-covered peaks are revealed. One such morning happened recently and happily coincided with a plan to hike Mt. Baldy near Crested Butte, Colorado, with friends. The views from the top were stunning, and we started getting the itch for winter sports in the town we call home.
