The slopeside Viewline Resort Snowmass has reopened in the heart of Snowmass Village after a $40 million refresh. Previously known as The Westin Snowmass, this prominent property for meetings and events was purchased in December 2020 and has relaunched with a new name, elevated interior and exterior, and enhanced culinary offerings and guest programming.

The Gettys Group, a hotel design and development firm, managed the renovations and infused the 1960s spirit of Snowmass into this longtime resort, and Davidson Resorts is managing both the property and on-site dining.

Meeting & Event Options

The 12 venues are distributed across 24,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space on-site and in the adjacent Viewline Event Center. The largest option is an 11,800-square-foot ballroom. Groups of 50 to 500 can be hosted, and amenities include high-speed internet, VIP services, customizable audiovisual services, catering, décor accents and a team of event professionals.

Recently, I wrote about Santa Fe, New Mexico’s new Sky Railway, which made me think about all the train tie-ins for groups in the U.S. Mountain West and western Canada. Several tourist trains offer special events that groups can tag onto and allow private rental of train cars, and there are venues and museums that celebrate the railroad’s front-and-center place in the development of the West.

Located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, Hotel Drover, an award-winning Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, focuses on simple pleasures and genuine hospitality. Kick-off your boots and stay awhile with 200 rustic-luxe rooms and suites. When ready, grab a hand-crafted cocktail or cold beer and wander outside to The Backyard at Hotel Drover, an outdoor oasis, with creekside seating, outdoor games, and seasonal live music.

A fixture of Jackson, Wyoming, since opening in 1965, The Virginian Lodge embodies the great American roadside motor lodge and is spread out across 13 acres located only a few minutes’ walk from town center. In January, the property unveiled a complete transformation encompassing 165 guest rooms and suites, the central courtyard, a new welcoming lobby and more.
